Microsoft has made available to developers MSDN (Microsoft Developers Network) and TechNet, beta versions of Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.
The update package will nevertheless be distributed in the coming days to all who are part of Customers Preview Program (CPP). The release will be available in several languages: English, French, German, Spanish.
That said, SP2 Vista is still in beta, something that could give some trouble and cause incompatibilities with software and drivers. It is therefore advisable to try on a test machine or a virtual machine, so as not to affect your system.
At the same time, Microsoft continues its work on Windows 7 and after having submitted a pre-beta version at the PDC (Professional Developers Conference) noise corridors claim that the first beta of the operating system could arrive by the month of January, and most likely on 13 January, just in time for the Microsoft Developers Conference.
